My journey to health and fitness

Hi! I'm Marissa Remy. I'm a body transformation expert, national bodybuilding athlete and nutritionist who is obsessed with elevating the world through health, fitness, art, & education. My vision is to elevate every person I come across.

I have always been somewhat interested in fitness and nutrition but never had serious fitness goals until I was in college. That’s when I started feeling incredibly insecure, experiencing a lot of anxiety which turned into a severe case of PTSD, and I was in an unhealthy relationship.

As a result, I threw myself into exercise by doing a one hour daily workout and for that one hour, I would feel a rush of endorphins and feel myself getting stronger. My workouts allowed me to create a new identity for myself, one that I had never had before. I became the hardest worker in the room. I became disciplined. I learned how to have fun in physical activity. I learned how to be confident, and how to make progress in becoming the best version of myself. 

After developing PTSD from prolonged childhood abuse, I was told by many experts that my case was so severe, I would never live without it. Through my health and fitness journey, I found my confidence and the ability to control my mind rather than be controlled by it. This enabled me to overcome my PTSD and support others in doing the same.

I became interested in nutrition in highschool when I learned how much our diet affects our body, but also our mood, our mindset, our overall health, digestion, and so much more.

I graduated college in 2017 with a degree in Environmental Science. I learned how our environment can affect our health, what we can do to boost our health as individuals and I suddenly felt called to do anything I could to boost mine and other peoples’ health overall.

I have also experienced competitive bodybuilding and I gained about 40lbs of muscle in 2 years (naturally). For years, I found myself in the cycle of bulking & cutting to sculpt my physique and after experimenting on my own body for so many years (trying keto, veganism, flexible dieting, clean eating, intermittent fasting, nutrient timing, etc), I developed an understanding of how the female body responds to various nutrients and I know what it takes physically, nutritionally and mentally to reach your health and fitness goals. 

I’ve used this knowledge to support hundreds of women around the world, boost their health, their mindset, and their body. 

Throughout college and afterwards, I have been working 1-on-1 with women to sculpt their bodies in a healthy, happy way that creates long-term results.

My journey is something I am forever grateful for because it taught me so much, and now I share those lessons with my team & the world. Reaching this level made me realize that there is so much more to life than what you look like. You gain more confidence in your abilities than in your appearance. I learned that fitness is just a vehicle for connecting with your higher self. The physical results are just a motivator and an awesome bonus.

What motivated you to start working out?

I wanted to sculpt my body into my dream body. I felt insecure and weak. I hated my life and enjoyed the rush of endorphins due to the severe PTSD I was struggling with. This led me into competitive bodybuilding.

The gym is where I created a positive relationship with myself. It's where I taught myself discipline and self control, and how to overcome any obstacle in my path. 

After becoming a top national bikini bodybuilding athlete, I reconnected with the real reason I fell in love with fitness, because it supports you in becoming the best version of yourself.

Why are you passionate about fitness and health?

Your connection to yourself is the most powerful connection you have. By focusing on your health and taking action to achieve your goals, you are not only boosting your own quality of life overall, but you are impacting the entire world by being a source of inspiration.
